The Corporate Transparency Act, part of the broader efforts to prevent financial crimes, mandates that certain business entities disclose beneficial ownership information to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN).

If your Business Entity was established before January 1, 2024, it is subject to these requirements.

  • The deadline for submitting beneficial ownership information is December 31, 2024. As corporate counsel, we know there is a lot of confusion and concern around the facts of FinCEN compliance in the business community, so we are inviting all of our current and past corporate clients as well as members of our business community to attend a free 30 minute FinCEN compliance call or Zoom meeting with one of our attorneys. We have been preparing for this since last year and going forward, and our corporate attorneys that provide business entity services have attended specific initial training regarding FinCEN.

Non-compliance with the CTA can lead to significant penalties. Because FinCEN compliance and reporting may involve numerous other updates to your business legal structure, we need to start working on this now.

  • The deadline for you to attend your free FinCEN compliance call or Zoom meeting with one of our attorneys is June 30, 2024. After this date, if you have not attended your free FinCEN compliance call, we can not guarantee that we will be able to provide you with the legal services necessary to ensure thoughtful and complete compliance with FinCEN prior to the December 31, 2024 deadline.
